Achensee

Alpenhof-Murnau

This is the Berchtesgadener Land over which towers the majestic 2713 meter high Walzmann rock face, combining nature and culture in a unique way and offering all round attractions in both summer and winter.
Lengries The holiday town of Lenggries is ideally situated in the heart of Tölzerland, providing a perfect setting to relax along the banks of the Isar. It is this river that has given rise to Lenggries’ long history of rafting and to its title “rafting village”. Surrounding mountain peaks such as Braunek (1555m) offer summer visitors a first class hiking paradise with traditional alpine huts, and in winter skiers and snowboarders can enjoy outstanding ski slopes.
Murnau am Staffelsee Situated on Staffelsee is the town of Murnau, considered to be central to Expressionism. It is here that Wassily Kandinsky and Gabriel Münter spent much of their time and founded a group of like-minded artists called “The Blue Rider”. The Münter-Haus and Schlossmuseum offer an attractive destination for those interested in art and a leisurely stroll along the town’s streets will reveal many of the inspirations that the artists captured on canvas.
Tegernseer Tal Tourismus GmbH At the beginning of the 20th century the Munich aristocracy and European nobility made Tegernsee their summer residence. Today the towns of Bad Wiessee, Gmund, Kreuth, Rottach-Egern and Tegernsee remain an authentic and exclusive holiday destination. Wildschönau The Wildschönau is a peaceful valley situated in the midst of the Kitzbühler Alps with 260 working farms offering local produce and traditional alpine huts. The valley offers seclusion and tranquillity that makes a perfect hideaway. In winter there are excellent skiing possibilities and a variety of trails to explore; in summer guests can enjoy the purity of the unspoilt mountain scenery.

The "Tourismusgemeinschaft Zugspitz-Region" is not only associated with Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany's top winter-sports venue, but also with cultural highlights such as the expressionist art movement in Murnau, the famous violin-making centre in Mittenwald and Schloss Linderhof in the Ammergauer Alps. In summer there are 1200 kilometres of footpaths and an extensive network of biking trails to choose from and crystal clear lakes provide the opportunity to cool-off.
